Johnson County News Release

May 2020
At Elon University, I had the privilege of taking COM 110, Media Writing, where I learned various forms of writing. For my final exam, I was given the choice to write a press release or an op-ed. 

This press release highlights the introduction of a new superintendent for the Johnson Country school district, Dr. Barbara Brown. The release gave an overview to the community about the individual who would be leading the district.


PR Op-ed

April 2020
​In my Media Writing class, I had the opportunity to learn about Op-ed's and what they should entail. I am very interested in public relations and the opportunity to persuade an audience using facts.

​In this Op-Ed, based on a true situation, a local group attempts to ban billboards as being unsightly and my client fights back.


Olympia News Release

March 2020
​In my Media Writing class, I learned various forms of professional writing such as, news release, op-eds, news stories, etc. This class gave me the opportunity to utilize several different forms of strategic communications, one learning how to write a news release. 

In this news release, a Virginia university  creates a new program for high school dropout to receive their high school diploma and a college degree.
